I wanted once again - as I did back in March - to reassure you that, our teams at SMA Nutrition are all working tirelessly to ensure that we provide you with everything you need from us during these difficult times. We learned a lot from the experience earlier in the year where there were out of stock issues due to panic buying. We have looked again at our systems to make sure that they are robust and able to maintain supply of our products so that they are available to you. We had many phone calls from parents to our Careline team with COVID-19 related questions during the first lockdown, so we have updated our extensive FAQs list to respond to your questions, including the latest government guidance. I hope you will find those helpful. Like you, many of our team are parents of small babies and toddlers, and have had to adapt to a new way of family life, spending more time at home and with options for recreation with the children outside quite limited. So, we have put together tips and ideas on how to keep your little ones occupied and happy now that days are also shorter, maintaining a so-much-needed routine for them, and hopefully even finding some time for self-care to keep you going. We recommend that you speak to your healthcare professional when deciding on your choice of feeding your baby. Professional guidance should also be sought on the preparation for and maintenance of breastfeeding. If you do choose to breastfeed, it's important to eat a healthy, balanced diet. Infant formula is intended to replace breast milk when mothers choose not to breastfeed or if for some reason they are unable to do so. A decision not to breastfeed, or to introduce partial bottle-feeding, will reduce the supply of breast milk. If for any reason you choose not to breastfeed, do remember that such a decision can be difficult to reverse. Using infant formula also has social and financial implications which must be considered. Infant formula should always be prepared, used and stored as instructed on the label, in order to avoid risks to a baby's health. SMA® PRO Follow-on Milk, SMA® ADVANCED Follow-on Milk, LITTLE STEPS® Follow-on Milk and SMA® ORGANIC Follow-on Milk are only suitable for babies over 6 months as part of a mixed diet. These should not be used as a substitute for breast milk during the first 6 months. The decision to start weaning or to use these products before 6 months, should be made only on the advice of a doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietitian or pharmacist, based on baby's individual needs. SMA® PRO Growing Up Milk and LITTLE STEPS® Growing Up Milk are suitable for young children from 1-3 years, as part of a healthy balanced diet and these are not breast milk substitutes. SMA® ORGANIC Growing Up Milk and SMA® ADVANCED Growing Up Milk are suitable for young children from the 12th month as part of a healthy balanced diet and these are not suitable as breast milk substitutes.
