Update on how we will support parents following school closure | View in browser
An update from our Managing Director
Dear Parents,
At SMA® Nutrition, families are at the heart of our business – your families, and the families of our employees. So the news that schools and nurseries have closed and we are now moving to a more extensive lockdown to safeguard public health, will have a major impact on our lives.
I wanted to reassure you that it won't have an impact on our ability to carry on with our business. Most of our team can work from home and around their own family responsibilities, all of them will be paid as normal, no matter what their circumstances. Our factory and delivery colleagues are doing an incredible job to make sure that we continue to have availability, whilst keeping everyone involved safe. This means that we can continue to work with retailers to replenish our products in stores quickly and make sure you get the formula you need while our team members are able to continue to be there to support their children.
I can also appreciate that the prospect of much more time spent at home alone with little people who don't really understand what's happening might be stressful for some of you. We are gathering ideas of how to help keep them occupied, happy and healthy, and also what you can do to help support your own health and wellbeing. This will be shortly available so stay tuned.
We won't always have all the answers during this uncertain time, but I personally commit to keep you updated on all our efforts to support you and our expert Careline is here for you and will always do their very best to address all your questions.
Remember our Careline team is always on hand to help. Get in touch 24/7 using our live chat, by phone or by email.
Important Notice: The best way to feed a baby is to breastfeed, as breast milk provides the ideal balanced diet and protection against illness for your baby and also many non-nutritional benefits for both baby and mother. We recommend that you speak to your healthcare professional when deciding on your choice of feeding your baby. Professional guidance should also be sought on the preparation for and maintenance of breastfeeding. If you do choose to breastfeed, it's important to eat a healthy, balanced diet. Infant formula is intended to replace breast milk when mothers choose not to breastfeed or if for some reason they are unable to do so. A decision not to breastfeed, or to introduce partial bottle-feeding, will reduce the supply of breast milk. If for any reason you choose not to breastfeed, do remember that such a decision can be difficult to reverse. Using infant formula also has social and financial implications which must be considered. Infant formula should always be prepared, used and stored as instructed on the label, in order to avoid risks to a baby's health.
