Month 17 news
Your toddler's social skills are developing quickly. Even their reluctance to share toys is actually a sign that your toddler is working out how to interact with others! Frustration is also a common outlet for toddlers who are learning to express themselves – so don't worry if your little one seems to be having a lot of tantrums! |

The Expert View
Always try to avoid foods with added sugar, as these may not provide any other nutrients and can fill your toddler up. Try giving all drinks through a lidded beaker or straw, to minimise contact with the teeth and always remember to brush your little one's teeth every night before bed. |

Tip: Starting potty training
How do you know when your tot is ready? A good sign is when they tell you verbally that they've done a wee or a poo. This can start to happen around 18 months. |

Tip: Hot drinks
Cups of tea are a good way for mummies to relax – just make sure you put them well out of the reach of little fingers. |
