Month 24 news
Wow! It's almost time to add an extra candle to the cake! It seems like only yesterday they were 1, doesn't it? Your little one will be growing in confidence all the time and now may even be capable of running, throwing, and even simple 4 word sentences. Phew! |

The Expert View
Your little one’s motor skills are now motoring along! Encourage them to refine them even more by providing lots of crayons for scribbling, showing your toddler how to fasten buttons and encouraging them to use a fork or spoon at mealtimes. |

Need to know
Potty training can be a testing time for everyone, but if your toddler has an accident, encourage them to use the potty next time rather than disciplining them for getting it wrong. Offering your toddler a small reward, such as a sticker, every time they use their potty can also help. |

Tip: Bathtime = playtime!
Introducing bath time games can develop your toddler’s mathematical skills. Start off by pouring water from one container to another, which can help build your little one’s sense of space and volume. Clever! |

Tip: Amazing iron
Iron plays an important role in the brain, in particular helping with the development of cognitive functions. As your toddler is learning so much at this stage, it's especially useful. Help them get enough iron with foods such as red meat, fortified milk, beans, pulses and dark leafy greens. |
