As soon as your little one is able to sit unaided, it's time to think about whether your home is a safe place for them to explore. Never leave hot drinks where baby may grab them, and keep all medicines and household cleaners well out of reach. |

The Expert View
When breastfeeding, it’s a great idea to try to include oily fish like mackerel, fresh tuna and salmon in your diet 1-2 times per week. The omega-3 is important for baby’s brain and vision development. But be aware – you should limit your intake to no more than 2 portions per week (a portion is around 140g). And, just like everyone else, you should not eat more than 1 portion a week of shark, marlin and swordfish. |

Need to know
You and your baby might be settling into an established routine nowadays, and so you might be thinking about fitting some exercise back into your life. Choose activities that are easy on your joints, like swimming, yoga or aqua-aerobics. And don't overdo it at first. |

Tip: It's still all about hydration
Feeling thirsty? Don't forget you need to drink more fluids when you're breastfeeding. This means 6-8 glasses of water or non-caffeinated drinks per day. |

Tip: Don't forget the corners
There's lots to think about when you're baby proofing your home. Just remember to cover sharp edges. There are lots of corner guards available to buy for the edges of walls, radiators, tables and worktops, so everything is covered. |
