Month 16 news
Well hello there, little chatterbox! Your little one has probably mastered a few words and as a result won't stop saying them. If your toddler isn't quite there yet, don't worry. They'll pick up language soon enough and then you won't be able to stop them gabbling!

The Expert View |
Protein is so important for your little one, but did you know it's quite easy for toddlers to get more than they need for growth and development? In fact, the average 1-3 year old is getting too much protein – and there is some evidence to suggest that an excess in early life can lead to being overweight later on. Mince, eggs and baked beans are good sources of healthy protein. |

Tips for you |
Tip:
Getting enough iron |
If your toddler is a vegetarian, beans, lentils and dried fruit are good sources of iron. Give them to your little one along with a beaker of orange juice – the vitamin C will help them absorb more iron. |
Tip:
Your Jabber away |
Keen for your little one to talk? Reading to them will help them pick up language, and asking them to join in will encourage them even more. |
