The Expert View
If your little one is already standing on their own two feet, that's great news! But, if like most mums, you're still waiting, that's perfectly normal too. There are a couple of things you can do to encourage your little one to get up and about. Always praise them when they pull themselves to their feet and keep smiling - after all, your little one still looks to you to know that they're doing the right thing. It's an amazing time, so enjoy every second of it.

Need to know
It's important to know your nutrients - and where to get them. Little bones need vitamin D in order to develop and grow, so it's important to make sure that your toddler is getting enough.

Tip: Copy cat!
Your little one is a clever mimic and will copy what you do. It's adorable to watch - but just be careful when taking tablets or vitamins, as your little one may try to put small things in their mouth too...

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The best way to feed a baby is to breastfeed, as breast milk provides the ideal balanced diet and protection against illness for your baby and also many non-nutritional benefits for both baby and mother. We recommend that you speak to your healthcare professional when deciding on your choice of feeding your baby. Professional guidance should also be sought on the preparation for and maintenance of breastfeeding. If you do choose to breastfeed, it's important to eat a healthy, balanced diet. Infant formula is intended to replace breast milk when mothers choose not to breastfeed or if for some reason they are unable to do so. A decision not to breastfeed, or to introduce partial bottle-feeding, will reduce the supply of breast milk. If for any reason you choose not to breastfeed, do remember that such a decision can be difficult to reverse. Using infant formula also has social and financial implications which must be considered. Infant formula should always be prepared, used and stored as instructed on the label, in order to avoid risks to a baby's health. SMA® PRO Toddler Milk and SMA® PRO Growing Up Milk are suitable for young children from 1-3 years, as part of a healthy balanced diet and these are not a breast milk substitute. SMA® Organic Growing Up Milk is suitable for young children from the 12th month, as part of a healthy balanced diet and it is not a breast milk substitute.
